Chelsea v PSG: Who will win the Club World Cup?

Chelsea will face the all-conquering Paris Saint-Germain in the first Club World Cup final on Sunday, with around £100 million worth of prize money up for grabs. PSG have steam rolled almost every team they've faced so far (except Botafogo) and will be hoping to add a fourth trophy to their haul this year. Is there any chance for Chelsea to cause an upset?

Chelsea's run to the final has not been as testing as PSG's but nonetheless, they have done their job and made it through each opponent. The Blues were comfortable against Fluminense, with new signing, Joao Pedro, turning out to be the match winner. Pedro scored two fantastic goals and has immediately made an impact at Chelsea. The Brazilian could move up the pecking order for the striker position very quickly, overtaking fellow summer signing, Liam Delap. Other standout performers during this tournament include Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. Caicedo's worth to Chelsea has been showcased for a long period now and is starting to live up to his £115 million transfer fee. There is a marked drop in performance when the Ecuadorian doesn't play and he will be crucial to Chelsea's chances against PSG's world class midfield setup.

PSG blew away Real Madrid in their semi-final, scoring two early quick-fire goals and the game ending in a 4-0 obliteration. It was clear to see the gulf in class between the two teams and one of the most obvious differences between the teams was the level of work rate. In particular, the difference in tracking back between the PSG attack and Madrid's attack was so clear to see and was a factor in how easy PSG found it to play through Real's press. The Parisians are probably the most impressive and exciting team to watch play in world football currently, and they are showing no signs of slowing down. Massive credit has to go to Luis Enrique in turning the French club into a team full of Galacticos to the young, relentless team it is now. The potential in this team is massive and there could be a new PSG dynasty being written as we speak.
There's no doubt that PSG will be right up for this Sunday's final against Chelsea. The Blues will be facing a harder test than they have in a long time and will play the role of underdogs in this game. But this could suit them as they won't be under much outside pressure and can use their strengths in transition to try and punish PSG. With that being said, you can hardly back against this almost inevitable PSG team from winning this Club World Cup with their beautiful, fluid football.
