In the title race, Liverpool and Arsenal are certain to battle it out. Both have strengthened well in the summer transfer window but Liverpool's window has caught the eye the most. They've broken the British transfer record by signing Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen and have further strengthened their attack by adding Hugo Ekitike. And they can strengthen even more! Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi are strongly linked with moves to the red side of Merseyside, and if they were to get these deals over the line, they would be the outright favourites to win the league this season. Over in North London, Arsenal have finally brought in a striker with a proven record. Although Gyokeres' phenomenal goalscoring record has been set in the Portuguese league, there are plenty of traits he possesses which will lend to his success in the Premier League. The Gunners have also added Martin Zubimendi to their midfield. The Spaniard could go under the radar as one of the signings of the summer as he will be able to complement Declan Rice better and free him to be more of a box-to-box midfielder. This could be Mikel Arteta's final chance at winning the Premier League title, so he will be hoping that his team can get off to a great start and carry the momentum throughout the season.
The competition for the European places could be intense again this season. Surely Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will be back in contention for those positions, along with the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa. Nottingham Forest could struggle with juggling Europa League football and the fact that teams will be more weary of their counter-attacking prowess. Teams like Bournemouth and Brentford have been decimated in the summer transfer window, so competing for the European positions like last season seems quite unlikely, particularly in Brentford's case. The Bees have lost Thomas Frank, Christian Norgaard and Bryan Mbeumo over the summer and such a vast amount of change will take time to adapt to.
Wayne Rooney would like to see Man Utd make one or two more signings before they conclude their summer business ✍️

In terms of the battle to stay up, the 3 promoted teams are certain to be involved. Of the promoted teams, Sunderland look to have recruited the best on paper. Signing players with Premier League experience such as Granit Xhaka, Simon Adingra and Arthur Masuaku could give the Black Cats an added advantage but it will still be very difficult to survive the relegation battle. Other clubs who are likely to be involved in this battle are Brentford, Wolves, and possibly West Ham United. As mentioned before, Brentford have been decimated over the summer and Wolves have also lost key players in Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha. West Ham's summer activity has been scrutinised by fans, especially the signing of Callum Wilson on a pay-as-you-play contract.
