The Best Premier League Transfers

The Best Premier League Transfers

Fans can breathe easily now that the summer transfer window has closed. Altogether, Premier League clubs spent over £3 billion which was more than what the rest of the Top 5 European leagues spent combined. With this amount of money having been spent, you would expect that the amount of player quality in the Premier League this season will be super high. So who are the best transfers this summer?

This summer window was dominated by two Swedish strikers. Viktor Gyokeres signed for Arsenal and Alexander Isak sealed a deadline day move to Liverpool for a British record transfer fee. The success of both signings could directly correlate to the success of their respective teams as both are seen as the final pieces to the two best teams in the league. From the first 3 games, Gyokeres has scored twice (both against Leeds United) but struggled in the bigger games against Manchester United and Liverpool. Isak hasn't played yet this season as his transfer went down to deadline day but there's no doubting his quality. He scored 27 goals in all competitions for Newcastle Utd last season and was undoubtedly the best striker in the league. Adding Isak to an already potent frontline will make opposition teams fear Liverpool even more. The linkup with Salah, Wirtz and Ekitike could be an all-timer and Liverpool fans will be wanting their next game against Burnley to come as quick as possible, especially as it's a good game for their new signings to fill their boots against a promoted team.

Other impactful signings include Jack Grealish to Everton and Mohamed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur. The common thread across both of these signings is the initial tangible impact they've already had on the performances of their new teams. Jack Grealish has probably had the most impact out of them all, assisted 4 times in 2 starts. Grealish already looks rejuvenated, and it has helped that Everton have had one of their more exciting transfer windows in recent memory. The linkup between Grealish, Ndiaye, and Dewsbury-Hall will be one to look out for. For Kudus, he had a massive impact especially in Spurs' first couple of games. The Ghanaian international recorded 2 assists against Burnley and was unplayable against Manchester City. With Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani also joining Spurs, Kudus can let his creativity run wild and will turn out to be one of Spurs' most impactful signings in recent memory.

From a biased point of view, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are going to have a massive positive impact on the performance of Manchester United. From the first few games, their impact has already been there for all to see. Whilst Mbeumo is the only one to score so far in the league, their performance levels have been pretty high and there's an almost unanimous feeling that both signings will be successful. Cunha's amazing dribbling and ball retention ability has helped United so far and Mbeumo has shown off how threatening his pace is and how many possible assists he can get for Sesko with those in-swinging floating crosses to the back post.
