What can Bryan Mbeumo bring to Manchester United?

This latest bid is reportedly worth ยฃ70 million including add-ons and it has been accepted by Brentford. Bryan Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season, and goals is exactly what's most needed in this United team. The Cameroonian will mostly likely play in the right-sided No.10 position in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 system, which would mean that Amad will most likely be pushed back to the right wing-back role. Mbeumo's goal catalogue is varied but he is a predominantly left-footed player who thrives when cutting in from the right. He is also rapid and a very effective dribbler, which is exactly the right profile Amorim looks for in the two No. 10 positions. Mbeumo is also adept at creating chances for his teammates to score, recording 7 assists from an xA of 9.26.
The prospect of having a front 3 including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and a new striker probably, will be music to Man United fans' ears. United's attack performed well under par last season, with the likes of Amad, Garnacho, Hojlund and Zirkzee scoring a combined 21 goals in the Premier League. Towards the end of last season, there were matches in which United were the dominant team but they would lose because they weren't able to capitalise as the forwards would often miss good chances. One game that comes to mind is the 1-0 home defeat to Wolves, where United had a few good chances to take the lead but their toothlessness in attack meant that as soon as Wolves scored late in the second half, there was little hope of retrieving a positive result from the game. Goal scoring has been a major problem for a couple of seasons now, and this has been reflected in their league finish last season. United scored the 16th most goals in the league last season, with only Everton and the relegated clubs scoring less. So by nabbing Cunha and Mbeumo this summer, United will hope that their goalscoring prowess will make a massive difference and give them an instant boost.

Bryan Mbeumo's signing could prove to be excellent as he is Premier League proven and a proven goalscorer, who's trajectory is still going upwards. One of the main priorities for United this summer has been to drastically improve their attack, as people such as Amorim and Wilcox had agreed that goalscoring was the main issue which contributed to the club's worst-ever Premier League season. So, with Mbeumo and Cunha signed and a new striker potentially on the way, could we see a vastly different United side next season?
